Get to know HORST
Medical engineering presents industrial robots with special challenges. Considering that medical products affect human health, the standards in terms of quality, reliability, and exact reproducibility in the production process cannot be high enough.
With HORST, fruitcore robotics has developed an industrial robot that is geared precisely to the specific needs of medical engineering, pharmaceutical and chemical companies, as well as laboratory and research facilities. With a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.05 mm, 6-axis industrial robot HORST is extremely precise and therefore also ensures consistent quality. HORST performs all the tasks assigned to it effortlessly; even handling hazardous substances and reagents is no difficult task for the industrial robot. With a surface that is easy to clean and its low particle emission, HORST can satisfy the high requirements of medical engineering.
Specific combinations of metal and plastic are quite common in the production of medical products—and our industrial robot HORST is made for this, as is demonstrated by excellent references from the field of medical engineering. Whether it is in the production of medical technology, the production of medicine, or in research facilities and clinics, HORST is sure to help.

Fitting. Feeding.
With HORST, handling tasks can be performed in next to no time. HORST tirelessly fits and extracts parts for your machine to be automated. Thanks to horstCONTROL, external machines can be connected simply via common interfaces.
Sorting
HORST brings order into chaos. With the vision system or parts separator, HORST can sort your unsorted parts quickly and precisely.
Testing
Testing your parts is made easy with HORST. HORST can perform contact-free testing or a simple OK/not OK test. Measuring is no problem for HORST either.
Labeling
HORST is ideally suited for having medical instruments marked in accordance with the guidelines of the health authorities of the USA (FDA) and the European Union. They are marked individually with a serial number and data matrix code so as to ensure that they can be clearly identified.
Palletizing.
HORST is a master at palletizing. No matter how large or small your part may be, HORST will safely carry your parts from A to B.
Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine our industry without robots. They perform various tasks for us, for example parts handling or workpiece testing. Thanks to their universal application spectrum, industrial robots can also be used in medical engineering, for example for fitting machines, testing, sorting, or palletizing. The fields of application are as versatile as the industrial robot itself. Many customers from medical engineering already use industrial robot HORST. HORST600 lab was developed specially for use in laboratories, for example.
Medical engineering has particular requirements for industrial robots in terms of quality, reliability, and exact reproducibility in the production process.
With HORST, fruitcore robotics has developed an industrial robot that is geared to the needs of medical engineering, pharmaceutical and chemical companies, as well as laboratory and research facilities. With a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.05 mm, HORST is extremely accurate and therefore ensures consistent quality. With a surface that is easy to clean and its low particle emission, HORST can satisfy the high requirements of medical engineering.
Industrial robots are also referred to as all-purpose robots because they are so flexible in terms of application. Together with our mobile robot base in particular, our industrial robot HORST is very flexible and can be used for any kind of application.
This is of great interest in medical engineering in particular. Are you looking for an automation solution for various machines and processes? In that case, HORST is ideally suited for your needs.
HORST is offered in three variants, each with varying load capacities and ranges. HORST therefore covers a wide spectrum of use cases, making it an all-purpose robot.
There are no all-inclusive prices for robots in medical engineering. The total costs are made up of multiple components. The acquisition costs for the robot itself are a main cost factor. In addition, costs will arise for the peripherals, i.e. special add-on parts such as grippers, suction cups, safety technology, workpiece infeed, or other tools. Individual requirements arise depending on the area of application and range of tasks, and the robot must satisfy these with its equipment. Further expenses usually include system engineering, project management, commissioning, actual operation, servicing and maintenance.
Our robot for medical engineering offers an enormous cost advantage. Its innovative kinematics and the accompanying drive concept allow high-quality standard drives to be used. Expensive special solutions such as those that are installed in many competing products are not needed. HORST thus offers an unbeatable cost–benefit ratio. In addition, our special production technology further reduces the acquisition costs. HORST is considerably less expensive than comparable robots for medical engineering—despite the fact that we produce in Germany and therefore deliver top quality.
By the way, HORST is not only less expensive to purchase. Our robot is very economical and low-wear even in ongoing operation. Since it is so easy to program you save time as well.
Thanks to their universal application spectrum, industrial robots are ideally suited for use in medical engineering, be it for fitting machines, testing, sorting, or palletizing—they can assist almost everywhere.
The fields of application are as versatile as the industrial robot itself.
Industrial robot HORST offers numerous advantages for use in medical engineering. On the one hand, it is extremely precise with a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.05 mm, and on the other hand, horstCONTROL supports all common industry interfaces, making it easy to actuate external machines and components.
