What is a pick-and-place robot?

Industrial robots, including pick-and-place robots, are an important element in today’s industry. Robotics technology has been undergoing consistent further development since the 1950s. On the one hand, this opens up new areas of application, and on the other hand, technical properties such as accuracy and dynamism are improved.

Industrial robots are classified on the basis of their mechanical structure (kinematics) or their area of application.
The requirements for the robot also vary depending on the application. According to the International Federation of Robotics, industrial robots are used mainly for handling (pick-and-place), welding, assembly, application, and processing tasks.
